From breakdown to sales schedule

The schedule mirrors the estimate hierarchy — lots, chapters, subtotals — in sell price, with VAT and gross total. Collapse / expand by level and Word / Excel exports that keep the formatting.

  • VAT and gross total computed
  • Faithful Word & Excel exports

Sales sheet

Resulting margin, under control

Compares the cost price — net cost + fixed extras — with the sell price from the coefficients. Margin is shown as a percentage of the sell price and flags the moment it turns negative.

  • Cost price vs sell price
  • Site, install and study extras
  • Margin % with negative alert

Tropic Estimating is a web application for pricing MEP trade packages. It combines a price database, a breakdown grid (materials, labour, net cost, sell price), a hierarchical bill of quantities and a sales sheet to keep margin under control.
Do I need to install it?
No. It is a PWA: it runs in the browser and can be installed on desktop, tablet or mobile in one click, with no app store.
Can I use my own price database?
Yes. The database can be imported and exported as Excel (.xlsx) or JSON. Start from the supplied database, extend it, or load your own.
Can I import a bill of quantities?
Yes. The tender bill of quantities can be imported to rebuild the structure of packages and items, with no re-entry.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Data is hosted securely and each user only accesses their own organisation's estimates through fine-grained role management.
Can I try it?
Yes. A demo and a trial period are available. Get in touch to access them.
