Your questions, our answers. A knowledge base in open access.
Getting started
Do we need to install software?
No. Tropic applications are PWAs: they run in the browser and install in one click on desktop, tablet or mobile, with no app store and no involvement from your IT department.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox in recent versions. No extension or particular configuration is required.
How long before we are up and running?
The interface is picked up in a single session. It is bringing your existing data across — price database, live projects — that determines the real timeline. Allow half a day for a comfortable start.
Can the tool be used on site?
Yes. The application installs on tablet and mobile, with an interface adapted to small screens: useful for checking a schedule or a deadline during a site visit.
Data and files
Can we bring our existing Excel files across?
Yes. Price databases import as .xlsx, and a tender bill of quantities can be taken directly, with its structure and item codes. The goal is not to cut you off from Excel, but to stop doing in it what it handles badly.
What formats can we export to?
Word and Excel for the documents produced — bill of quantities, quotes, sales sheet, tracking tables. Exports keep the formatting and can be sent straight to the client.
What happens to our data if we stop?
It stays exportable until the end of the subscription, then for a further thirty days. No action is needed from us: export functions are available at any time from the applications.
Are there backups?
The hosting platform performs regular database backups. We nonetheless recommend keeping your own exports of important documents — it is the best safeguard, whatever solution you use.
Team and access
Who sees what within the team?
Each organisation only accesses its own data. Internally, three roles structure access: team members see the projects that concern them, department leads steer their department's, and management has a cross-cutting view.
How many users can we create?
The Trial plan is limited to two users. The Team plan places no seat limit; for multi-team organisations, the Enterprise plan allows the scope to be adapted.
Can several people share one account?
It is technically possible but discouraged: the action history becomes meaningless, and the workload plan loses its purpose. Create one account per person.
I have forgotten my password.
Use the reset link on the sign-in page. An email will let you set a new one.
Subscription and billing
How does the trial work?
The trial gives access to the applications for fourteen calendar days, within the limits stated on the Pricing page. It is a single, non-renewable payment: at expiry, access is suspended, with no automatic renewal or surprise charge.
Can we move from the trial to a subscription?
Yes, at any time. Data entered during the trial is kept and remains accessible after you subscribe.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. The subscription is monthly and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
Are prices exclusive of VAT?
Displayed prices are net prices: VAT is not applicable, under Article 293 B of the French tax code. The amount shown is the amount paid.
How do we get an invoice?
An invoice is issued for every payment and sent to the address given at checkout. For a payment against a quotation, it accompanies the service.
Security
Where is the data hosted?
On infrastructure located in the European Union. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS and data is encrypted at rest by the hosting provider.
Do you access the content of our projects?
No. Intervention on your data only happens at your request, as part of a support case, and is limited to what handling the request requires.
Does the website use tracking cookies?
No. The public website sets no tracking cookies, and the analytics in use collect no personal data.
